Thematic area:

Novel Sensors

Product:

A smart device that can be used at home, assesses and trains oropharyngeal muscle strength using integrated sensors and machine learning models. It predicts severity of conditions such as obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) and Parkinson’s related dysphagia, enabling earlier intervention outside clinic settings.

Market:

Targets major chronic conditions: Parkinson’s Disease and OSA, combining for an estimated €20B total addressable market. Hospitals, sleep clinics, neurologists, and major MedTech firms represent key customer groups.

Fit:

No existing device offers at home, non-invasive combined assessment and training with predictive analytics. Current tools are either invasive or lack measurable data. This solution fills a major unmet need with strong commercial readiness and a clear spinout pathway.
